How To Choose The Right Type Of Flooring For Your Business

Flooring

When it comes to commercial flooring, it could be considered a booming industry. In fact, flooring manufacturers sell mainly to commercial locations and businesses, selling only around 5% of all wares to consumers in 2016. The commercial buildings, however, made up nearly 40% of all sales and the total flooring market of 2016 and helped cause the sales growth for around 40% of flooring contractors in that same year. This represented a total growth of just over 3% for the flooring industry in the United States in 2016, and the flooring industry closed the year with a market value of over 21 billion dollars.

But when it comes to flooring for commercial buildings and spaces, there are a lot of options to choose from. From module flooring to laminate flooring, the options can even seem to be endless (and past even module flooring and laminate flooring are industrial resin flooring, metal decking, etc). There are four factors that are considered crucial when picking out commercial flooring, however, and these can help to make the final decision. First, it’s important to choose flooring like module flooring that provides water resistance. Improved comfort is also considered to be an important consideration when picking out commercial flooring. Next, durability, as can often be found in module flooring and laminate flooring, which can last more than two decades if cared for properly, is often thought of. Finally, ease of cleaning is important, particularly for commercial building. However, it is important to note that not all types of flooring are suitable for all uses. For example, while module flooring may be ideal for the interior of a commercial building, it probably makes more sense to consider a concrete deck or other concrete type of flooring for a warehouse location. Laminate flooring in particular, though, has proved to be multi functional and suitable for many different uses, as is seen in its overwhelming popularity. In fact, in 2016 sales from laminate flooring totaled over one billion dollars for just that year.

Choosing flooring for a commercial building can be, at first, considered a daunting task. After all, there are so many options to choose from, from laminate flooring to modular flooring to even concrete flooring. However, understanding what purposes you need your flooring to serve (like, for instance, whether or not you need it to be water proof or easily able to be cleaned) can help to narrow down your search.
