Exploring the Importance of Earth’s Simplest and Most Necessary Element

Float steam traps

It’s often been said that money makes the world go round but perhaps it’s time for the wording of this famous phrase to change. While it’s true that money is a very important determining factor in so many aspects of the world, another substance just as — if not more — important than money also makes the world go round. In fact, it’s pretty much what the world itself is made out of. So what’s this miracle substance?

Believe it or not, it’s water.

Good ol’ H2O is the one substance that the world simply cannot do without. Before there was money, there was water. Not only is the majority of planet Earth made up of water, but the human body itself is comprised of nearly 75 percent water. The importance of water to the human body is highlighted by the fact that humans can go several days if not weeks on very little to no food but can only last a few days without water.

As such, it should come as no surprise that water in it’s solid and gaseous forms are just as important as the liquid stuff. For example, steam — the vapor formed when water reaches its boiling point — can be used for a number of household and even commercial purposes. Steam is commonly used in industrial settings to generate or release power and heat, while steam products for cleaning are an excellent alternative to harsh chemical household cleaners.

From Spence valve steam traps, to Sarco steam traps, to Armstrong steam traps, it’s pretty safe to say that there are a variety of different types of steam traps used for industrial purposes. Spence valve steam traps are perhaps one of the most common types of steam traps. A steam trap is a device used to discharge steam and gases that are unable to condense. Many steam traps, including Spence valve steam traps, are nothing more than simple automatic valves.

Just think, water is necessary for nearly every aspect of everyday human life. It’s even necessary for robots who work 24 hours a day and seven days a week in factories producing the products used in everyday life. Water is often used to cool certain components. So you see, water is far more important than you may have originally thought.
