Building a modular office is becoming more and more common here in the United States as a way to reuse old shipping containers. After all, shipping containers are plentiful, with nearly twenty four million in total. However, only around six million are actually being used. The rest simply sit around and contribute to the ever growing waste problem experienced not only here in the United States, but all around the world as well. As modular construction and building methods don’t typically utilize materials like timber, cement, concrete, brick, and shrink wrap and more – and also tend to use a good deal of recycled materials – the waste produced at a modular construction site is often as much as ninety percent less than the level of waste that would be produced at a more traditional construction site using more traditional methods of building.

Modular office buildings and other types of modular construction are also often far less expensive to build. In fact, modular warehouse offices and the like only cost a mere fraction of what you would typically pay in construction costs. By constructing at least part of a modular office in a factory setting, you can reduce costs by as much as twenty percent. Typically, even if costs are not reduced by as much as twenty percent, they will still be reduced no less than nine percent, which is still a considerable amount and far less expensive and better than the traditional costs that can be associated with basically any type of construction that is not modular construction but more traditional construction.

Finally, the construction of the modular office and other such modular buildings is far less time consuming than the construction of buildings and homes that have been built using more traditional methods of construction. In fact, a building in China that was built in a mere nineteen days skyrockets to fifty seven stories. This impressive feat was able to be accomplished only thanks to the efficiency and safety of modular construction. Other data continues to back this up, showing that up to ninety percent (and typically no less than sixty percent) of the process of modular construction can be fully completed in a factory setting, speeding up the overall average construction time and process by quite a bit.

On top of this, modular homes provide relatively low cost options – making home ownership available to those who might not otherwise have been able to afford it.
